E-Love: Writes About World Of 13-Year-Old Kaye
Kansas City, Missouri – Peggy Eldridge-Love’s first young adult work, is an ebook novella titled “Loving Buddy”. Peggy’s entry into young adult literature has been sparked by the memories of her own pleasure as a young reader reading the works of Betty Smith and Pearl Buck and a desire to perhaps spark an imagination today in the way hers was then.
“Loving Buddy” focuses on the changing world of 13-year-old Kaye Hawkins, the daughter of a third generation pastor, who is a staunch defender of her big brother Buddy, no matter how many hearts he breaks or the trouble he makes. She is also intrigued by the inner workings of her extended family and what she is perceiving about the quality of the lives of the women who surround her.
“There is a little bit of Kaye in most of us.” Peggy offers. “Introducing her in this short work will hopefully endear her enough that her readers will want to get to know her much, much better.” Peggy Eldridge-Love is a poet, playwright, novelist, and the designer of a line of contemporary greeting cards. She is also a visual artist and doll-maker. Her previous works include You Beckon, The Knoll Frames, and Peach Seeds, Her poems and plays have recently appeared in Denver Syntax, Mused, OCHOS, Mipo-Chapbook Series, and Poets and Artists.
